~~2001 Monopoly Comments and Questions~~

I find this site wildly hilarious. Your odds of winning are incredibly pathetic. Much like a lottery. Particulary funny are the people asking for the "remaining" winning piece. GIVE ME A BREAK PEOPLE! How stupid do we look??? If I had the winning piece... chances are that I would have the other pieces. Let me tell you a story I am not proud of... but is true. I delivered newpapers in my early twenties when this game first came out. The inserts for the game had to be included seperately with the paper. I took all 300 inserts home with me. I COMPLETELY filled up two game boards (minus ANY winning pieces) and had about 25 free Big Macs. I had 600 chances (two game pieces per insert) and I didn't win a single prize. You're odds of coming up with the winning game piece... well... were a lot less likely than mine. So I laugh out loud each time I see some nut begging for his winning piece. TRUST ME when I say, you have the easiest and most common pieces...and stand almost NO CHANCE to win! Sorry to dash your hopes...don't be so GULLIBLE! KW Columbia SC

I was not going to bother putting up this story, but since I saw many others that were FAR more stupid, I thought I would share my close glance with the BoardWalk piece.

In the last Monopology contest, the BoardWalk piece was found and claimed by a man from Burr Ridge, Illinois. He got it on hashbrowns at the Hinsdale, Illinois. According to an article in the local news paper, he got it at breakfast at about 6:45 am on a particular Tuesday. Guess who went through that same drive through that same day and also got hashbrowns - but at 7:00 am...? Yep me. I kept kicking myself for not having gotten up earlier that day. That is a true story.

.. I thought it was all to suspicious that the Hinsdale, Illinois McDonalds is literally about 5 miles from the McDonalds Corporate World Headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. It is literally the closest McDonalds restaurant to their McD's headquarters. I thought that was awfully curious. Of all place the winning $1M piece shows up, it is at the McDonalds five minutes away from their World Headquarters. Hmmm... - Matt I will see if I can locate some information on that. Sometimes that does get posted online on a newspaper.

i need stamp 319 pennsyilvania ave. - Brennon S.
i need stamp 319 pennsyilvania ave. .... will pay person $100 - Brennon S.
hi i need stamp 319 penssylvania ave. any one who gives me that stamp will receive $1000 - Brennon S. Hmm I am just waiting to see if your going submit yet again with another zero on the end of that offer. :-)

This is great, and just one more reminder that you can find *anything* online lol. - Andrew B Don't ya love it! :-)

I was looking to see which McD monopoly pieces were winners, and which were ho-hummers. Can usually figure it out once you have two of them though. - whopper Whopper eh???  You work for Burger King, don't you?  :-)

I wanted a way to remember the rares. Here's one way: First Property: Mediterranean
Last Properties in Last Row: (Pennsylvania, Short Line, Boardwalk)
The "V" properties Vermont, Virginia, Ventnor
Free Parking Corner (No free parking in New York) Tennessee, Kentucky - Rufus. Hmm that is one way.  I think the easiest way is that it the last one in each group by alphabetical order, except for Boardwalk.

Do you get tired of Boardwalk claims and people asking for Boardwalk? After all, you deserve to have Boardwalk. - Ichiro I find how easily some people claim to have Boardwalk sad. I think they just want to experience what it feels like to say they  have won. The claims I find pathetic  are the ones that have appeared on my various trading forums. Those people are clearly so desperate for attention (via email) that they make that claim and get a bunch of gullible people all riled up, begging and pleading to be the one to split the prize with the winner.  Also, while I appreciate the thought, I certainly don't deserve to find Boardwalk anymore than anyone else playing the game.

Is there anything different about the game pieces as the years go on? What would keep someone from using previous game pieces in other games? - EAS448 They have different numbers from year to year. Also, what good would a common do you from last year? You could get the current common easily. The instant win food pieces have expiration dates on them.

See You In Year #6 - Taz37 - Yup.. I will be here!!  :-)

I need one more stamp (the rare ones) for all of the stamps, I need some winning stamps, and I know Ebay ain't selling winning stamps, only a drunk man would winning stamps. - Zack2 I don't understand what you are saying about the drunk man.

found site on gameboard...very interesting info..Hmm...5 people having the ONE boardwalk gamepiece.. - tim You are not the first person to tell me they found my site on the game board, however, my site is NOT listed there. I am not affiliated in anyway with McDonalds.  Only 5 claims of Boardwalk???  Where ya been??  Its up to 11 now.   LOL

Thank you. You make it easy to find out the rare game pieces. - Wild Willie Thank you!!! After a couple complaints saying it wasn't easy to see which the rare pieces were, I was starting to wonder. :-)

if you can find me a rare I would probably pay about 20 dollars for it and 2-4 differt other pieces - Benadrill Hmm I think that would be a fair value for Mediterranean. :-)

i have a park place...whoever gets boardwalk and is visiting this sight i would be more than happy to split the money w/you ;) - Gene. I would love to split the money with anyone who gets Boardwalk too. But I ask, why in the world would they want to split it with anyone?

Just gotta say thanks for showing which stamps are rare and which are common! Saved me a lot of confusion... and a lot of money on food just for the chance to win something :-) - Jeff I don't understand how I save you money. If you don't have the rare piece you have to keep playing to win.

Thanks for your site - I was guessing Boardwalk was the hard one to get but wasn't sure. Too bad I thought I was going to be a millionaire. - Joshua Keep playing, you might be. :-)

Wanted to see if my peices were rare. They are.:-( Oh well, thanks for saving me some money.:-) - clare. How am I saving you money?  If you don't play you can't win. :-)

Thank you for providing this website. You have been a big help, because if I didn't know that Mediterranean was the "hard piece" I would waste all my money trying to get Mediterranean, thinking I had the hard piece, Baltic Ave. - Linz. Well you wouldn't have wasted much money, considering the value of Mediterranean is only $20.00. You wouldn't be trying to spend more then that to get that piece would you? Then again, its kind of a silly thought process anyway. You don't choose which collection pieces you are going after, you get what you get.

Great site! I love to read to read the moron comments, and your great replies.

...You mention that they (Official Rules) should be available on the game board, but the game board that I got yesterday says that these are NOT the official rules, and that you should refer to the McDonalds website for the official rules.

Before Ronald McDonald existed, there was a character named Archie McDonald, who had a golden arch for a body, and french fries for arms and legs. Maybe the person who asked about the origin of the golden arch might be interested in that tidbit.

My comments wouldn't be complete without adding a moronic portion, like most of the other people who have commented. So if you have Boardwalk, I'm willing to buy it from you for the cost of your meal (maybe more). (As for how much it's worth, I think we could ask an accountant to calculate it. Assuming that you could get a Park Place piece for $10 (shouldn't be too tough), I would think that the Boardwalk piece is worth roughly $500,000, since the million dollar payments are spread over 20 years. So, if *I* had Boardwalk, and someone offered to split it 50/50, I would probably say yes... if they give me my 50% today.) - Interested Reader  Good comments.  The rules on the board are basic. I have copied the official rules here.  Maybe a good company to ask about Boardwalks pre-claimed value, would be one of those companies that buy out your interest in a mortgage, lottery win or settlement and such.

In the last four years of running my own computer consulting business, I have become aware of the belief that "most people are idiots" I would like to thank you and your site for reaffirming my faith :) - Freeman  And I don't even post all the comments!!!  LOL

If anyone has piece 321 I am willing to pay that person a large some of money (lower than 1 million $) - Radioactive Moron  $999,999.50?

need more stamps i want to win something!!!!!!! - Krystal.  Fill up on more french fries!!!

I wonder where the Boardwalk and Pennsylvania Ave. are. I just won $20 because I have Mediterranean Ave. and Baltic. I also won $5 instant. Other than that I only win food prizes. And did the McDonald's fries and drink price goes up???? since they're giving out so many prizes??? - Cory. My guess the is that the rare pieces are on a food product package, on someone's game board, or thrown away by someone not playing.  Did you notice the prices going up???  I think that a good portion of the prizes are donated by sponsors.

I won the $5 mcdonalds Gift certificates to. Stamp Number 337. If you want a Picture of the $5 instant money or the gift cirtificate game pieces, email me - Jarrod!  I don't require it to post your claim. However, if you wanted to scan it and send me the pic of the stamp that would cool.  I would post it for others to see.

Well I was looking to see if park place or board woalk was real because i lost my board walk that i lost =( and got my park place today.  one of those ppl are not telling the real deal because i had a board walk. (and im not lieing i had one)  Maybe one of those other people found the Boardwalk piece you had.  Now they get the million bucks.

this is great! thank you. I know i got short line a few weeks ago, now i have to find it. - reaper42d  Don't you hate it when you misplace the winning piece. Over the years I have heard a lot of stories of people who had Boardwalk or some other valuable piece and misplaced them.  Wonder if they go to the land of the missing "other" sock???

i want cash of my million do llars i win i have 320and321 You be sure to write back and let us know how your spending that cash... k?

Cheril, this website is the BEST! But you should update it more often. - Linz Thanks!!! I do try to update it daily or every other day.  Seriously though, its not like I am reporting some urgent breaking news here. :-)

How come you took out the space to write down how many Boardwalk Pieces you have. Because I like seeing how many people are stupider than me. Linz A person does not need to be of lesser intelligence to write a number in a box. I think they just want to know what if feels like to claim they have won. I think it is probably an empty feeling. Their claims are not followed by a check or a prize.

You have probably gotten a bazillion e-mails, I would love to have the adventure vehicle and pay you a certain sum or work something out, I know I'll never have the $1,000,000 but if you happen to I would give you 60% and do you have any other pieces?    - Deborah F.  I don't have the adventure vehicle to sell you.  If had the $1,000,000, why would I give you 40%?  I have common pieces just like everyone else.

Hello I was recently on the message board and i was wondering how i could get a
hold of someone who posted a message.   Thank you Sarah
If they didn't leave their address, you just have to post a message to them and hope they see it.

do u have  board walk?  Bye the way, more than 1 person has 321!!!!!!!! - WWJDgal2000. No I don't have Boardwalk. And it is impossible for more then one person to have stamp #321. McDonalds only released ONE Boardwalk #321.

Hi, my name is Stephen S.  I have one of the two winning game pieces for the million dollars macdonalds 2001 monopoly game.  If you have any info on who has the other piece #521 send me an email.  We all have one of the two pieces. There is only ONE Boardwalk piece (which is number 321) available. I have no information on who actually may have that piece. My guess is that the owner of that piece would already have a stack of Park Place pieces and doesn't need to be contacted.

My Baltic Ave stamp has a bar code on it. Any idea why? Thanks! - Melissa  I have a guess. That collection set is the only one that is redeemed at the restaurant. I *assume* they use the bar coding on each piece to scan it in, and keep track/record of it. Baltic is not the rare piece of that group.

change the rare pieces sometimes. like one year park place could be rare and boarwalk could be a little easier to find - Titus B. I could change the rare piece yearly, daily, or hourly.  However, it wouldn't do you any good. McDonalds is the one who decides what piece they are only going to distribute just a very few of. Not me. :-)

I love your comments section. It's hilarious. I thought I was special having Park Place also. Now if I can only find that Boardwalk. Hahahaa. Yeah... uhh huh. Anyone with Boardwalk want to hook up? :P Great site though. Ciao. Kenneth  Thanks!!!  hmm bet if your single one of those folks that *claim* to have Boardwalk will want to hook up.. but ummmm you will have to foot the bill for all those expensive dinners and limousine rides, just until they get their money, of course. ;-)

This is cool.. thanks! And it's funny that the rare ones are usually the same each year. (I guess that makes sense.. so people don't save their pieces from year to year!) - Kristin  Thanks!!  The numbers on the pieces also change from year to year. One of these years they will change it I bet, just to keep us on our toes.  (but I bet Boardwalk will always be the rare in that group) :-)

Cheril! You have to help me boycott McDonalds for false advertising. Because today, at McDonalds, there was a poster showing all the food items that had "Monopoly Pieces" on them, and when I went inside they only had pieces on the drinks(which are a rip-off)instead of the fries and stuff! So you have to help me boycott McDonalds! Please :) - Linz. No need to boycott.  What is happening is that the end of the game is getting near. They have run out of the other packaging that has game pieces on it. The game runs until August 9th OR they distribute all the game pieces.  It happens every year.  They only distribute a certain number of pieces each year.  (Almost 500,000,000 nationwide this year)   Try another McDonalds in your area. They will run out of the special packaging at different times.

It is pretty easy to determine what the rare pieces are by the tally, but it would be helpful if you put them in a "rare list" by themselves. - Aerialous  The list has been there, in small print right about the Tally list.  I have bolded it for you.

it's nice to know just how little of a chance i have to win anything. all that fatty food for nutin! ;) - whiplashchick - Yea the odds are against you. But the pieces have to be out there. If random chance falls on you favorably, however, you will end up with a winning piece. Just got to keep trying.

I've had it with monopoly...Last week I got a baltic avenue stamp and it had a bar code on it. I thought I had the $20 winner so I went back to McDonalds trying to get the mediterrean stamp but I got another baltic stamp. I thought I was the luckiest man in the world, then I found your site:( What a cheap ploy by McDonalds making you think you have a winner to keep you coming back... Great site keep up the good work! - queticodreams Wait a minute,  you are not suggesting that McDonalds puts on this contest every year, just to get people in their establishment to make purchases do you???  You don't think that this is actually a money making venture for them do you???  Hmmm  :-)

if u give me boardwalk piece i will split the $1,000,000 - Flo Why would I give you Boardwalk if I had it?  Why do you think if I had it I would be willing to split the money with you???  (I don't understand at all) :-)

WILL GIVE ANYONE WHO HAS THE SHORT LINE RAILROAD GAME PEICE 1/4 THE CARS VLAUE. - JASON Wow, that is really an awesome thing to do Jason, That should really help cover the winner's tax and such they have to pay.  I am sure they appreciate your kind offer to help them out.  Maybe they will even let you ride in the car once in awhile. :-)

Join Forces, split the sale of the prizes!!! - Jeff M. Sorry Jeff, but I haven't seen anyone offering to sell any prizes at all.

what is it with the morons who are selling the *common* game pieces on eBay! , and even more important, what is it with the morons who are actually bidding for them? also, how many (major flame bait removed)  do you think would bid if i put up a fake eBay! auction for boardwalk? - db  As much as I am shocked to admit this, I wish I had thought of selling commons on eBay! .  I have seen people actually paying money for pieces.  I guess the sellers can't be morons if they are making money that way. Perhaps *some* of the buyers thought it was cheaper (and less fattening) to get a share of pieces that way.  I don't know about a fake Boardwalk pieces, but a seller had to make a quick correction when folks misunderstood what he was offering and thought he had a completed game board. Yup, they were bidding like crazy!!!!

Would like to get together with one of the persons's with Ventnor. - Darlene T.  I can't hook you up with any of them. But if your single and looking to hook up with a millionaire... I can help you!!!!

Hi Cheril, Angie and Rob Checking in... we were the couple who used to live in Wisconsin and blew our diet out of the water in the 1999 contest or was it the 2000 contest and eventually managed to win $5 and a ton of food in the contest. Yummy site as always. - Hey there!!! :-)  I found your comments from the 1999 game. Good to see you back here again. !!! :-)

I have a ?...under the game pieces site you have listed "14" available for the railroads...do you mean 14 Shortline available...do you always use the number available to mean the number of the rarest piece available? - Cece. Yes and Yes. There are only 14 Shortline pieces available.  There are only 14 adventure vehicles being given away in the collection portion of the game.

need more chances to win - Meliv - Go buy more food at McDonalds

my friend has boardwalk and I have park place. Do we win anything or do we have to enter a drawing? - Greg.  *Ahem* Well first let me put on my "stooopid" hat so I can play along with you. K? *wink wink*  Uhh well duh, you say you have Park Place and your friend has Boardwalk, and you uhhh duh, found yourself all the way to my website, and you are like completely clueless as to what having both those pieces means.  Umm well duh, ummm I am not realy sure either. I need to look at them really close. Mail both pieces to me so I can ummm duh,  check it out for you.. Yea thats it.

I really swear that I have the park place #320 I just got it today!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Stephen S. Wow, that is really cool.  My guess is that about one out of every 3 or 4 people that were at McDonalds today got Park Place too. But really, I am happy for you. :-)

Excellent site. Keep up your sense of humor. - gwb - Thank you!!!  I am just glad to know that at least someone recognizes that I am using humor. :-)

Like the site, good way to see if a sticker is valuable or not (by seeing who has received what) although anyone can just put they won any card, as the 7 boardwalks show ;). - Scottyrooroo Thanks!!!  Even though there are some folks who lie about what they get, the majority don't and you can still tell what is really the rare game piece.

Your site is great!  A wonderful resource for the McDonalds game players.  You wouldn't happen to have the rare piece list for the Taco Bell Tomb Raider game, would you?  Or perhaps, do you know where I might be able to find the information?  Thanks in advance,  Jim Thanks!!! No I haven't been involved in any of the other fast food contests.   I am considering it though.  People have asked me over the years to do other companies games.  Not many do the "find the rare piece" though.

7 people with boardwalk??!?! Sure...... - Dotted Quad. You mean you DON'T believe those peoples claims???  Well I bet they don't believe in a Dotted Quad either. *smile*

I have a New York, which is supposed to be orange, but it is yellow. Is it worth anything? - Missy.  Nope.. Not unless there is a common piece collector who wants a dye variation. This happened before, ( I just quick scanned through my last 2years worth of comments/questions and didn't see the comment)  and no one was interested in his dye variation piece.

How do you find out if anyone needs what you have? - Aunlynnie  Go to eBay!   and put them up for auction. If they want it, they will buy them. I saw a group of 30 common pieces sell for $70!!!

been watchin ya for a while...good job. hope you make a little money on sponsorships!! - Chris B  Thanks.. I try to just put up stuff that I really think visitors that play this game would be interested in. You are not hit with pop-ups ads upon entering or leaving this site. I don't advertise this site.   I just gather the information and present it. I was fortunate enough to have my Millionaire site featured on quite a few interesting sites and a couple radio stations (!!!).  My site is for enjoyment. I hope I achieve that goal.

I just wanted to put this at the top of your comments page: These comments are a glorious testament to the overall stupidity of the average American. *sigh* peace... - Kyp *snicker*  I prefer the thought that they were "stunned" for a short time after being hit with the "stupid stick".  Every year I am truly amazed at how many get "stunned"  :-)

Did anybody win the million last year? - Karena. McDonalds is very tight lipped about it. I think I recall that they *may* announce it if someone wins.  Its a sad truth that the pieces may end up in the trash, thrown away by someone not playing the game.  McDonalds doesn't do 2nd chance drawings. Prizes not claimed are not awarded to anyone.

how can i contact people with pieces i need such as i need pa ave and shortline rr - MageKnightFreak My guess is that have to want to be contacted. They could post in one of my forums. But umm not bloody likely. :-)

Thx for the info, it is fun, but also sux (in a good way) to know while i am eating that i lost. - gizmata. Enjoy your meal, don't check here until AFTER you eat. :-)

it was great to find out which are rare, but wasn't cool to find the ones i don't have are rare!!! - Nooks2003 - alas, that double edged sword strikes again. :-)

i need Short line, Ventor Ave., Vermont Ave., Boardwalk. will share 20/80. - Richard C. Not even close to a fair offer.  You need the same rare pieces we all need. We all have the other common pieces. You would be lucky if someone gave you a buck for all your common pieces combined. (That is my story and I am sticking it to it! ) :-)

I won a sea-doo jet ski, but spent $835.00 for the trailer, car hitch, and registration+ taxes. McDonalds is really greedy and tight with their money! Chris M. The game is only 13 days old. And you have already won, claimed and taken delivery of the jet ski?  Ummm sorry, but I don't think so. Per the rulesGame Stamps and other Game materials submitted to the Redemption Center will be verified within 8 weeks from the date of receipt of the Game materials, or as soon thereafter as is reasonably possible. Verified High and Mid-Level prize winners will be notified by mail. SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT WITH RESPECT TO ALL AUTOMOBILE AND ADVENTURE VEHICLE PRIZES TO EXTEND THE DELIVERY DATE BY UP TO 6 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF NOTIFICATION TO THE WINNER.  While there are some requirements to pay delivery taxes and such, the vehicle is worth over $6,000. So a true outlay of $835 is a small part. It was a good claim though, just needed to make it in 6 months or so. :-)

My friend has Boardwalk, he showed it to me, although he and his brother and siter were excited, they later discovered that it had the stamp number 320 (Park Places number), but Boardwalk's was 321, was this a mistake or did they make it on purpose? - Zack. Zack, hun, your friends are messing with you.  Boardwalk is 321. Go with them to McDonalds when they try to claim that piece. ..( yea right they will do that)... LOL

can you send me some game pieces you can do that because i got some for you today plese - trellis. No, I can not send you game pieces. You did not give me any. What are you talking about???

Do YOU have any rare pieces? - Spunky379  - Oh yea, I have them. I have been holding out on everyone. In fact I have them all. I get them all every year. And NO I won't trade for any amount of money or your silly common pieces. It is great to be the Queen. (Puhleaze, what do you think?)  lol

Nice site. I knew SOMEONE would have this info. Your site does make it hard to find the winning pieces though. Maybe you could list them as "winning pieces"? (or maybe I could just shut up because it's NOT MY SITE! ha ha ha) Thanks for the info! - Thor. Hmm well Mr God of Thunder  :-),  The list is there. Right above where the tallies start. Kinda in small print, but it is there. (and if Thor isn't the god of thunder, I apologize.. hate to get my gods mixed up) :-)

require a scanned image for people who claim to have a rare piece... you'll know which ones are rare because i dont think they change year to year, and also everyone will be saying that they have the other two - jkh1978 Nope. As I said below, I am not the piece police. If someone feels some strong need to claim a prize they haven't won, that is their problem. I just let folks be folks. The claims of wins (both true and false) are fairly low, considering how many  people contribute to this site.

Greatly amused by the number of people that claim to have Boardwalk. - Nathan. Yea, I usually am too. But this year I created a form for submission and I have had a lot more claims. Kinda bored by it now. I have now removed the ability to just check it (Boardwalk) off. Seems folks hands can slip real easily. LOL

Why do you have to buy an extra value meal just to get game pieces that is wicked stupid?:(~ Danielle. You don't. They are also on "Medium and Large Soft Drink Cups (32 oz. and 42 oz. depending on market), Medium, Large and Super Size® Fry Boxes (5 oz., 6 oz. and 7 oz. depending on market), Regular and Large McFlurry™ Dessert Cups and Hash Browns Bags". They were distributed in some magazines. You can also send away for them "by mailing, postage pre-paid, a hand-printed self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) to: 2001 MONOPOLY Game at McDonald's, Game Piece Request, P. O. Box 466002, Lawrenceville, GA, 30042-6002. Vermont residents only may omit return postage. You may submit as many requests (SASEs) as you wish, but only one request (SASE) for three Game Pieces per outer mailing envelope, mailed separately." "Requests must be postmarked no later than August 9, 2001 and received no later than August 16, 2001."  Just gotta pay attention folks! :-)

can you earn prizes here- rbryan Ummm no.

This site is rasist against green and purpul people!!!!!!!!! - liaerteller - Put down the french frys and back away from the game. You clearly have had too much.

make the site so people can trade stamps I have 3 forums for players to do just that. Had one of them up for 4 years now.  LOL  Yahoo Forum, Delphi Forum,  and Everyone Forum On all 3 sites you can ask to trade and chat.

If someone claims to have Boardwalk or any rare piece make them send a scanned image as proof before posting on your site. - CyberDave  I am not the piece police. Let them have their 10 seconds of "faked" fame. I get a chuckle out of their sad need to lie. I have had some send scanned pieces before and if they do, I post it. But whatever.  This site is for fun. Enjoy. (Added. CyberDave claimed to have won $5.00, I never saw a copy of his game piece)  :-)

Hi Cheril, What would be the best way to get in contact with someone that has a Boardwalk
Game Piece? We would be willing to offer a negotiated reward to anyone who could put the
person that has Boardwalk in touch with us. Thank you Arnie
First you have to find out "who" has the Boardwalk piece. In all my years of doing this, I have yet to see the real Boardwalk winner come out to anyone but McDonalds.  Lots of people claim to have it, or know someone who has it, but NEVER EVER have one of them proved it.

Hi!  What's a reasonable amount to pay for the Boardwalk game piece, I know someone who has it but I don't want 2 make it sound like I need it that much. I also need Kentucky Ave. and the Shortline & Reading Railroad, can you help me there??     Thanks so much! Love, Kaitlin There is only ONE Boardwalk available. Its is worth $1,000,000 over 20 years. Unless they live under a rock and only crawled out this once, I doubt they are going to part with it. As far as how much its worth, that would be up to the individual people. The other pieces you need are the same rare ones we all need. Can't help you there.

HELLO! ABOUT WHAT TIME DO THE RARE PIECES SHOW UP? I PLAYED THIS YEAR BECAUSE RIGHT AWAY I GOT PACIFIC AND N. CAROLINA AVENUE. REGARDS, JOE I don't think the rares make an appointment and show up.  :-) It is my understanding they are just distributed with the others. However, all the details of this remains a deep dark secret with McDonalds. Somehow I doubt they are willing to release that information. :-)

I have played McDonalds Monopoly since it first started many, many years ago -- paper game pieces handed out with your order, you tore off the two sides and unfolded to reveal your piece. Year after year after year, this game has continued to have the SAME rare pieces. Your site is great!, but rather than rely on other people's reports, you can just post a "permanent" list of rares -- it will be good today and for years to come. (I'm sure McDonalds doesn't want to have to face the hassle of people trying to combine game pieces from previous games to build a monopoly, so they just avoid the whole problem by never changing the rare pieces). - Steve2000  Thanks for info about the older games. :-)  I believe the rares have been the same for most of the game. As has been pointed out in previous years, the rares are all the last letter alphabetically in each group, with the exception of Boardwalk. I have been told that is the one piece that has changed, but I have no proof of that. I do have the rares listed right above the tally.  But the "fun" of this site has always been to allow folks to submit to me what they have. If nothing else it gives some sort of purpose to all those common pieces we all have.

Want to connect with someone that has Boardwalk - Arnie  hmmm looking for a date? Or just a millionaire?  You might have better luck looking for a millionaire here   :-)

you must have a lot of time on your hands - Grape Ape  Your point?

In my quest to stave off pregnancy cravings, I have been eating and winning only food items at this time... thanks for the help and letting us know some out there are winning. - Micaela6955 *phew* If you had been eating non-food items, I would have been worried.... :-)

several people are selling boardwalk #321 on ebay....and all the other common stamps...what does micky D's take us for a bunch of broke b......s wasting our time OCDing on becoming a millionaire -MMartin. Strange. I just checked eBay! , and while I saw lots of pieces being offered, I didn't find one single Boardwalk over there. You don't HAVE to play you know. Yet you obviously have, you submitted quite a number of pieces. Hmmm :-)

some of these people wanting to split the winnings are just  stupid! - Bobby Naw, the stupid ones would be the ones that had the winning pieces and agreed to a split with someone who had a common piece. :-)

Does anyone have any of the following: Park Place, Boardwalk, Mediterranean Ave., Baltic Ave., Vermont Avenue, Virginia Avenue, St. James Place, Tennessee Avenue, Kentucky Avenue, Indiana Avenue, Ventor Avenue, Marvin Gardens, North Carolina Avenue, and Pennsylvania Avenue. - The Matrix Kid. I have seen some of those pieces available on eBay!

Is there a chance to collect all three of the green pieces(North Carolina, Pacific, Pennsylvannia) or is there one that is not avalible. - G-Man Yes it is possible. There are 2 Pennsylvania Ave collection pieces being distributed. The odds of getting one of those 2 pieces out of the almost 500,000,000 pieces however is rather slim.

Willing to sell everything - Kim You can sell all your pieces on eBay!   Last time I checked it out, I was shocked to see that folks are bidding on common pieces. Wish I had thought of it!  LOL

of course this is a stupdi comment but i will pay some good money for shortline peice - stank0r Check out eBay!  then. Folks are selling lots of pieces.

If you can get a free food prize in the magazines with 1:1 odds. Why don't homeless people steal the peices at the butt-crack of dawn from people's driveways instead of eating the cheese off old wrappers they find in garbage cans? I know what I'm doing when I'm homeless...suckers. - carbon. Just because someone is homeless doesn't mean they are a thief. Also, what magazines in peoples driveways are you talking about.? The magazines have to be bought in a store. "When your homeless"???  Planning your future eh?

today i saw your game peice page. the page that shows how many peices of what peice people have gotten. there are 5 peices for my board i see people have found. Is there anyway u have the email addresses of the people that submitted this form for the peices they got? There are 5 peices i need, for 5 sections on the game, and i need just one for each to win and those 5 peices have been found and said on your tally sheet! if you could please help me i would greatly appreciate it. - Yoni S  No, I won't release email addresses of anyone who contacts me or sends me information.  The 5 pieces you need are very rare. We all are looking for the same pieces.

When we add more info, should we type the nickname the same give a new total of all the prizes we have won, or will they then get counted twice? - Paul. Give your same nickname, but only list your new pieces.

I got a game Board and 2 pieces in Parade Magazine. My friend got a magazine and he didn't get anthing. He was very pissed off and i want to know why he didn't get anything. - The Duckie Boy.  I have no clue why he didn't get anything.  Maybe he went to the same bookstore that adam visited.  (For the record, let me again state; I don't work for McDonalds and I have nothing to do with contest officially)

Great site. Especially enjoyed the tip on looking at eBay. Capitalism at its best! - Curtis K.  Thanks!!!  I really got a chuckle at the eBay!   stuff. $250,000 for Park Place?  LOL

I was going to create similar website fom McD's Monopoly game myself until I found yours. Great job, thanks! - SM There used to be a few sites.  Now I only know of one other, and he is trying to sell sets of common game pieces.

We got Park Place last Saturday and threw it away. My husband talked to a co-worker yesterday who claims to have 3 Board Walks - we were absolutely sick at the thought that we might have literally thrown away $1 million! What a relief to know that it's Board Walk that's rare and not Park Place! - Lisa D Every year lots of people claim to have had Boardwalk.  I also hear tons of stories like "We had boardwalk last year/3 years ago/in the caveman days/ and didn't know it was the rare one so we threw it away" Its become an urban legend of sorts. They can claim they have Boardwalk all they want. What they don't have is the money. :-)  Glad I could help Lisa! :-)

You guys got it wrong. Park place is the hard one to find. My friend got bw, but we tossed it out. - Dork  I hope life is well in your alternative universe.

Get a location where each of the items are found...at least for the more rare pieces - Space Ghost. I don't think that would help much. Please note, I don't verify these claims. The fact that I have 5 claims of the single Boardwalk piece, indicates that most these claims are false.  I would be very surprised if any of the upper prize claims I have received are real.

Are different pieces (rare pieces), distributed to different regions? Is there any certain way that the rare ones are distributed? - E-Man84.  Those are deep dark secrets held by McDonalds.  My "guess" is they are sent throughout the country. I doubt they just send all the good ones to say, So California.  :-)

Don will split the $$$$ with whoever has the Boardwalk game piece. - Don. I think anyone would be willing to split the money... EXCEPT the owner of the Boardwalk piece.

Is New York the most common of the three, and how do you find out? Thank you - gagagirl The only way I know to find out is by what I am doing. Having people submit the number of each piece they have. In this case New York appears to be about as common as St.James, the other common in that group.

I took all of the game pieces from every time and newsweek at my local bookstore and the biggest prize I won was a free happy meal! - adam Bad Karma, dude. You got more than you deserved to get.

I always wondered past years if I had one of the rare pieces but didn't eat at mcdonalds enough to get the rest of the pieces for that group. - jeepguy  Glad I could help ease your mind. :-)

Anyone got a shortline to trade for any piece(s) I have and earn $150 with the submission of the correct piece (shortline or PA Ave).....???? - Erin. Well, I will say that is at least a different approach.

I will split the prize 50/50 with whoever has boardwalk - Mark B Wow, well so would I. But I am not expecting a miracle. :-)

Do you know which magazines have sent out promotional game pieces? - Elwood The list is in the rules. Section # 1

I see Tina reported having the only Pennsylvania Avenue, and "lakecumberlandsells" claims to have #318, so if the three of us got together, we could "split" the car - i.e., sell it and split the proceeds. If you want to help us do that, I think it would be worth AT LEAST 25% of the cut - maybe more. Something is better than nothing is my view. Thanks! - BocaBill Your forgetting someone very important. Tina. The pieces that you and lakecumberlandsells have are commons. Anyone can get them in one or two visits to McDonalds. Out of almost half a billion  pieces, there is only ONE Pennsylvania Ave. IMHO, the other pieces are not worth 5cents each. Sorry.

What are the odds of getting the Ventor and Atlantic pieces? - TeXdude. Atlantic is a common. One or 2 trips to McDonalds should do it. Ventor.. hmm how about a snowballs chance in.. well umm really really slim.  The odds chart from McDonalds say the odds to get Ventor are 1 in 9,979,629.

I received a #320 Park Place stamp in Oklahoma today. I am willing to offer the best sharing % to the holder of Boardwalk In your estimation, what are the odds that anyone will get the Boardwalk stamp, and if so what is the best way to find this person.- Chris W. You would be lucky to get a dollar for that piece. There are almost 500,000,000 pieces being distributed. Thousands and Thousands of Park Place pieces. And just one little ole Boardwalk.  Anyone with Boardwalk could get Park Place in a visit or 2 to McDonalds. I doubt seriously the person with Boardwalk wants to be found.  The posted odds at McDonalds are *drumroll* 1 in 440,190,000!!!

Yo guess what, My dad works for the Invuirer newspaper, and last night i went up to rap papers for him. Now I feel the same way you do about stealing, so I didn't. What I did do though was take out all the ones that had doubled. For instance one luck guy had 27 game boards and (54) stamps going his way. I made things right and took 26 of them, because it wouldn't of been fair to his neighbors, you know :). - Patrick ummm I didn't think the pieces were going to be distributed by newspaper this year. Interesting. I am sure his neighbors are thrilled that he didn't get any extra pieces. So what did you do with those 26 game boards? You split them up fairly among all the newspapers. Right?

Is there going to be 1, million dollar winner for each state, or what??? or just 1 million dollar winner in all ? - Queen There are only 2 $1,000,000 prizes available. One is an instant winner distributed by mail and in some magazines around July 9. The other prize is a collection piece. Boardwalk is the key piece. There is only ONE available.

if u have any information on some people who have shortline please inform me     thanks - Pirate78md  Well nope, I have no information to provide, but I am curious, you reported having Boardwalk, why do you need the "Adventure Vehicle" stamp too? If you have Boardwalk as you reported to me, you can go buy your own vehicles. :-)

Woo-hoo! I was hoping to find a site that listed the rare stamps, and this is it. . . Now if only I could find one! <grin> - ACK  ahhhh, well I am glad I could help out.  Sorry, but I can only do 1/2 of it for you.. :-)

This is my first year as an avid player.  Do you have any suggestions?  I eat at McD's a lot so I will be getting quite a few pieces.  I'm even considering doing a little dumpster diving to get the pieces people threw away.  well, maybe that's a little much, but I really want to get fully involved and have a good chancew to win.  Any tips? - Jeffrey  hmm see below.. I think you are also onfire4jesus. :-)

This is my first year as an avid player. Any suggestions? - onfire4jesus. Yup. Remember that this really is just an instant win game. Period. You either get the rare piece or you don't. Any common can be had with just a couple visits to McDonald's. Its all random chance, and whether that random chance falls variably on you or not. One thing I know for sure though, is you can't win if you don't play. Just enjoy the game for what it is. :-)

Can we check who won this game's grand prizes last year? How did they find the pieces? - warachan. I have yet to see where McDonald's has released this information. On my links page, I have found a couple sites regarding some past winners of prizes.  I may be going out on a limb here, but I think the way they found the pieces was to get the game pieces either by writing or buying food and then peeling the stickers off. :-)

a page counter would be nice to see how many unique people visit (i.e. how useful is hte info here). maybe links to other monopoly sites???? - PeaceKeeper. Hmmm you mean those numbers that appear on the bottom of all my pages and the links page I have had for years? :-)

I realy need a Pennsylvania Avenue. - Fancy hmmm well yea.. we ALL do. :-)

i have a park place piece and i was wondering if you had the boardwalk piece
 thank you,      daniel z
No I don't have the boardwalk piece.

HELLO IM INTERESTED IN THE BOARDWALK GAME PIECE,WILLING TO PAY FOR IT IF YOU HAVE IT.. LET ME KNOW,THANKS - SPORTSAUTO - Everyone wants the Boardwalk piece. The person that gets it would have to be a complete idiot to sell it. But I am curious, just how much are you offering to pay for the piece? The piece is worth $50,000 immediately, and that same amount again each year for 20 years..

I really wanna win im glad i found ur site and know the chances but advertise this more - val  I don't advertise this site at all. It is found via search engines and word of mouth (or in this case more likely, type)

There is a bar code on Baltic, does this mean it's a "rare piece"? - poop. See the next 2 comments and my reply. :-)

there is a bar code on my baltic avenue stamp. does this mean anything? - cv  See the next comment and my reply.

I think I won $20 with Baltic Ave (#301). The stamp has a barcode on it Numbered 4798 - Brillo Baltic does not appear to be the rare stamp in the group.  I suspect the bar code is for the restaurant to use when they are presented with both stamps for claiming.

Is North Carolina one of the rare ones? - Curiousboy Nope

i want to know were to get the rules on this site. - TKWALT I will post them on the site, as soon as I get them. The game doesn't start at the stores until tomorrow and the Mcdonald's site doesn't have them posted yet. ADDED - Got them!! Rules

where do u get the official rules for the game - girly. At McDonalds. They post them in the store. Also should be on the game board you get at the store.

Someone asked me the other day if I knew what McDonald's golden arches
signify.  Can you tell me?  Thanks.  -Bill Hmm
not exactly Monopoly game related, but I will search around and see what I find out. If someone out there knows, I am sure they will email me. :-) ADDED - I found the following on the  Concord Monitor  website. "Dick McDonald came up with the idea of the golden arch in 1953, not long before they opened their first franchise store in Phoenix, Ariz.  I'll put the damn things in, but don't tell anyone I was involved in it," his architect said. Photos of the store show a single arch holding a McDonald's Hamburgers sign, and an arch at each end of the shop. Much later, they would be combined into the famous golden M logo."

I wondered if you could tell me what magazines the game pieces are in?  I've
looked and looked, but can't find any information. - Jenifer
.
The press release did not indicate which magazines they were in.  The next comment states they are in Premiere magazine, however I didn't see the insert in it. I located a game board and piece in the July 13th edition of Entertainment Weekly. Anyone searching for them, please be cool and buy the magazine before removing the pieces....cheril.   ADDED The list of magazines can be found in the official rules.

I would just like to compliment you on your very informative site and let you know about the Monopoly game. ..... ....game pieces can already be found in magazines. In Premiere magazine, they give you 2 game pieces and a board to stick the pieces. The chances of you winning something through a magazine game piece is 1:1, although the chance of winning something through an in-store game piece is 1:6. For your information, my first game piece was St. Charles Place (stamp 305) and the second was an instant win food coupon, good for either a cheeseburger, hamburger, or 4 pc chicken nuggets. Obviously, if you are looking for food, the magazine is the way to go, since you are guarenteed to win. But for actual game pieces, the Mcdonalds instore game would be better because you would get 2 instead of 1 game piece and 1 food coupon. I plan on going to barnes and noble and taking all of the game pieces out of the magazines, and as soon as I do, I will let you know what pieces I get. I hope that I have helped you out in some way. Good luck with the site. - Jimmy - Hey thank you for that information!  See the press release for even more information. Only one thing troubles me. It is TOTALLY UNCOOL, to go rip off the game pieces from magazines. Let me know what pieces you get fairly. I am not interested in game pieces that are stolen..

Is there going to be a 2001 McDonald's Monopoly game?
Just curious. - Joseph S.
(see below)

Cheril-  Any word as to when this year's kick-off date is?? - Craig (see below)

I was wondering if you knew any information on the 2001 Mcdonalds monopoly game... If you could tell me when the pieces come out in the newspaper that would be great - Reed H. I finally know!!! I stumbled across a local McDonalds' website and they stated that the Monopoly game will be played this year. The scheduled dates are July 11, 2001 through August 9, 2001.  They stated nothing about the newspaper inserts, however in the past years, the insert appears the first weekend the game starts.
