Snicker - giggle - laugh - guffaw!!!

Ok, ok, ok.  I understand the legal garbage. Its their logo, whatever.  What is so funny is that I have had this site up for what, 5, 6 years???  Long before Ticketmaster bought Match.com.  The original owners knew, but hey, back then I was promoting their site. You know, BACK WHEN THEY HAD CHAT!!!!! This site is ancient and old.  Match com no longer has chat.  Ticketmaster did away with it. I am kinda confused as to why the new owners want me to remove match.chat too.  Anyway.....

So I countersigned their letter.  Could they provide me a return envelope with the address on it at least?  Nope, I gotta hand address that long silly name attorney offices use.  

Oh yea, I have to remove Match.com from my meta tags too.  I put those in a looooong time ago too.  Guess what?  I don't think there is a search engine left that uses meta tags anymore.  But again, whatever!

So I am removing these old ancient ugly graphics, changing some titles blah blah blah frigging blah.  At this time, I am not replacing them.  I don't think there is a sole that still visits this site.  I haven't heard a word from anyone about the information regarding my sister I placed a while ago (see below)

That is where it is at.  I will remove the match.com stuff. Think I can leave the banners. I am a LEGITMATE  affiliate to match.com (I.e., I get a few dollars if someone signs up with match.com via the banners)

Oh, and don't misunderstand.  I am not angry or saying anything bad about Match.com really.  I know the law is the law and they have to protect their stuff. I just find them going after this site silly. HOWEVER, I asked some legal friends of mine about it. They explained that they have to even shut down a silly ole ancient non-important site like mine, because it sets a precedence.  Some big ole fish down the road could cause trouble if a bunch of little sites like mine were allowed to continue.  (You didn't go after the little ones, so you can't have a case against the big ones)

One last thing, just to be sure I have covered my bases:

THIS SITE IS NOT AFFILIATED WITH MATCH.COM.  THIS IS NOT A MATCH.COM SITE.  MATCH.COM DOES NOT SPONSOR THIS SITE.  Years ago I signed up to be an affiliate of match.com. This only means that if someone clicks on a match.com supplied banner and/or wording I may get a few bucks if they pay and sign up. MATCH.COM DOES NOT ENDORSE THIS SITE. In fact they seem to not like it anymore. :-)  I am sure if I have missed something here, I will get another lovely letter from one of those names in the long list of names they attorneys office uses as their title. 

Ugh.. now off to start removing graphics. (just boring and non productive for me - blah)

Thursday, December 26, 2002 9:00PM - Hey!  I finally am able to update this site again.  My ex switched servers again. (Can't complain since he hosts my sites for free.)  Regarding Match.com I don't really have anything to update.  Chat never came back.  I think my profile is still there. Oh well.

Some of you met my sister.  I am sad to advise that Michele's cancer returned with a vengeance about a year ago.  We had just enjoyed a very good year, Disneyland, shopping, watching her son graduate from high school, just good life type things.  We were finally able to live again somewhat after my mom's tragic illness.  Shortly before Christmas of 2001, Michele complained of some back pain.  By April of this year, her back pain was tremendous.  The cancer was growing in between the discs of her spine. It broke her back.  She was having chemo, but the cancer was spreading elsewhere.  

At the beginning of May 2002, I received a phone call from her 18 year old son, Josh. He told me Michele had suffered, (what we would found out to be) a massive stroke.

I remember Michele, telling me she had difficulty in visiting my mom in the rest home.  She told me she was so afraid she was seeing her own future.  How did she know?  That really haunts me.

On June 21, 2002, surrounded by her son and some close friends, my 40 year old beautiful, outgoing, outrageously fun sister, died.

My eulogy to her, which I gave at her memorial service can be found here.

This has effected more than I could ever know in advance it would.  I can't add anymore now. Perhaps I will later.

2/20/01 I am still alive and kicking!!! :-) So much has happened since I last touched this site. It seems like so many lifetimes ago.  Match Chat is no more.  First they changed the chat format to something horrible. Most the regs jumped ship and headed off to Swoon (? I think). With a few exceptions, the new chatters were not nearly as much fun, sincere, smart, witty or great as the old bunch. I found the majority to be rude and totally lacking in understanding of what chat "could be". The new chat room format was so lacking in anything fun, it was pretty bad.  Around September of last year, they closed the chat room down completely.  They promised to open a new one up soon. I have kept emailing them, it appears the chat room is gone for good.  

I  finally have gotten off the bleeding edge of technology. That was a major part of why I haven't been updating any websites for so long. I had a P1 133 with 48mb of ram and a 56k modem.  I am happy, thrilled, excited actually (lol) that I am now updating this page on a 1GHZ with 256mb of Ram via DSL. OMG..  THIS is what the web was meant to be. (at least for now... ;-)   )

One other thing kept me away. My mother recently lost her battle with cancer. While undergoing chemo in April 2000, she suffered a major stroke. Forcing her to spend the next 5 months of her life in a nursing home.  Mentally, she was gone. She had left no instructions on what she wanted done about anything. Prior to this we didn't know how advanced her cancer really was. She didn't tell us. Do we have a procedure done or not? Would she want us to?  She would connect every once in a while. That is when we had hope. It is like a nightmare to think about now. So involved, so involved. She passed away on September 15, 2000.  We had a service at sea with the Neptune Society. It felt right to do for her. The one thing we knew for sure she wanted. 

My sister is battling cancer and the surgeries and extreme hassles that happen afterward. She deals with it all so well, but she keeps being dealt such rotten hands. 

Me?  I am still single. Getting more and more used to being alone. Sometimes wonder if I can share my life with anyone anymore. It gets lonely but its a known factor. Maybe this is just the way its supposed to be. 

ANYWAY.... I guess this site is kinda dead for now. Till either Match brings back chat, or I find a new cool place to chat, where I feel comfy.  Until then... take care.. hope life brings you lots of  happiness. :-)

The Successes page has been updated.  Btch and Gandaulf's pic and story is there now.  A few stories have been removed :-(   If your a chatter and wish to appear on this site, please send me your pic.  Be sure to include your anon name in the email.  I am also accepting success stories. While family things have caused me to withdraw a lot and no longer seek a "match", I have returned to chat. You can find me there most nights :-)

1/26/99 I had a MAJOR computer crash :-(  My computer was in the "shop" for a few days!) To fix the problem quickly, I had them give my computer a lobotomy. (I had the entire hard drive wiped out and started over)  Fortunatley, I had done a mini-back up the day before.  However, I lost all my email addresses, all my old mail.. all my icq stuff.. and all my bookmarks. I haven't been on icq the last couple weeks since this happened. I am unable to get it to work :-(   The only good thing is my hard drive is no longer crammed full.. and I now have have Windows 98. (Windows 98 IS more stable then 95!)  My life is still filled with web site creations. (it is all do, from when I get up in the morning till I sleep at night...umm with the exception of taking care of and playing with my son)

A big thanks to Sam, for sending me screen shots of my pages (before I fubbed up this page as noted below)  It contains lots of valuable information, and now I can re-add some of the important parts of this page.

1/8/99 Nothing new to report.  (except my having to redo this front page, since I FUBBED it up by accident)

I haven't been in chat much.  And I haven't added any new pics lately.  I apologize for this.  I have been spending ALL  (and I do mean just about ALL) my time, working on my recently created website.
